I have 4 children. Keeping them healthy and safe is my top priority! When my oldest son was 1 he came down with RSV and pneumonia. He was hospitalized for 5 days and was put on antibiotics and had several breathing treatments during his stay. I was extremely grateful for the doctors and medication. However, it took us several years to reverse the side effects from the medicines he was given. The antibiotics killed the good bacteria in his gut and left him with a syndrome known as, leaky gut. Basically, his gut liner had holes in it and food leaked out into his bloodstream, hence the name “leaky gut”. This can cause food intolerances and digestive issues. The gut is the brain of the immune system and when it’s out of wack so is your immune system. With several diet changes and essential oils we have been able to fix the problem and he no longer has a leaky gut!
Like I said, I was very happen to have medical assistant and antibiotics during this time but I don’t like running to conventional medicine every time someone has a cough or runny nose. I love using my essential oils for natural remedies and knowing that I am healing their bodies with God given medicines that won’t harm them.
Essential oils are natural medicines and very powerful! When using them with kids it is best to make roller bottles so you can dilute the essential oils in a carrier oil, like fractionated coconut oil. Typically, I make my own blends in roller bottles but I wanted to tell to you about doterras touch line. These are premade roller bottles that are great for topical use and safe for kids.
The top 5 I use are breathe, digestzen, on guard, melaleuca, and lavender.
Breathe is doterra’s respiratory blend. I use this one anytime my kids have coughs, congestion, or dealing with seasonal threats. Roll onto the chest, bottom of feet, and down the spine to promote easy breathing, open up senses, and clear airways.
Digestzen is doterra’s digestive blend. I use this anytime we have tummy issues. It is wonderful in aiding digestion, soothing upset stomachs, and reducing uncomfortable gas and bloating. I rub this on their tummies anytime someone complains of their belly hurting or when we eat unhealthy food.
On Guard is doterra’s protective blend. This oil is great at supporting a healthy immune system and killing germs. We roll this one on anytime we are sick or exposed to lots of germs. I lather them up in on guard before church nursery or playdates. This one is good to put on the bottom of the feet, on the wrists, and down the spine. This is my most used oil, especially in the cold and flu season!
Melaleuca is great for immune support and known for its purifying and cleansing properties. I use melaleuca when anyone is complaining about ear pain or has lots of drainage. I rub it around the outside of the ear and on the bottom of their feet.
Lavender is a calming and relaxing oil. It is also soothing for the skin. I use this one on my kids before bedtime to promote a restful night sleep. It is also good to put on skin imperfections. Before bed roll lavender on the jawline and the bottom of feet. Apply to area of concern when using it for skin imperfections.
